¹⁶ The ^[a](A)wages of the righteous is life,
The income of the wicked, punishment.
¹⁷ He ^(B)is on the path of life who keeps discipline,
But he who forsakes reproof makes ^[b]himself wander about.
¹⁸ He ^(C)who covers up hatred has lying lips,
And he who spreads a bad report is a fool.
